On Thursday July 24, 2025, Terry Bollea aka wrestling legend and controversial figure Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71. There were conflicting reports of his health the days leading to his passing.
Initial reports stated that Hogan was rushed from his Clearwater, Florida home after exhibiting signs of cardiac arrest. A press conference was held in Clearwater on Thursday, offering additional details.
Major Nate Burnside of the Clearwater Police Department confirmed that officers, along with Clearwater Fire & Rescue, responded to Hogan’s residence shortly before 10:00 AM. According to Major Burnside, Hogan was suffering from a “serious medical-related issue.” Emergency personnel administered treatment on site before transporting him to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 AM.
Authorities noted that a standard investigation will be conducted, though there were no indications of foul play or suspicious circumstances. Hogan’s family is currently being provided with support resources. Burnside closed the briefing by asking the public to keep Hogan’s loved ones in their thoughts and assured that more information will be shared as it becomes available.
Hogan while best known for his wrestling career also starred in many film and TV shows. While never Oscar award winning roles the films were fun. No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, Mr. Nanny and Santa with Muscles and the fun action series Thunder in Paradise. But probably most film fans will remember his role as Thunderlips in Rocky III.
