3 Classic Comedies Perfect for Halloween

Halloween is a time for scary movies, but sometimes you have just had your fill of scares, gore chills and kills, and you want to cleanse your palette. There is no better way to do that, than will a good comedy. But let's be honest if it's Halloween you want something spooky. But are there spooking comedies?

Well, we know of The Munsters and The Addams Family, but we are not going with the obvious here.  Here are three classic comedies perfect for a fun-filled Halloween night of entertainment! 

3. The Nutty Professor (1963) Jerry Lewis stars in this comedy version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Professor Julius Kelp (Lewis) a chemistry teacher invents a magical potion that can transform him into a suave and handsome womanizer named Buddy Love.

2. Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant), a Brooklyn writer of books on the futility of marriage, risks his reputation after he decides to tie the knot. Things grow complicated when he learns that his beloved maiden aunts Abby and Martha are serial murderers. (Check out Criterion Collection's newly restored Blu-ray of this classic!)

1. The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966) Luther Heggs (Don Knotts) is typesetter with dreams of being a full-fledged reporter, is given his opportunity when he is charged with spending the night in the haunted Simmons Mansion.
