Sabotoge (1996) Blu-ray Review -Classic Cinema+

Mark Dacascos, I have seen him in so many films. The first film I can remember noticing him in was I Am Omega. That was the mockbuster of I Am Legend. But Mark has been in so many films during his 40 year career. Including playing alongside Marlon Brando in the Island of Dr. Moreau and in the classic The Crow!

MVD Rewind Collection released a great Dacascos adventure a couple years ago when they released Double Dragon on Blu-ray. But what about more Dacascos films? Well, MVD had you covered with their newest Rewind Blu-ray release 1996's Sabotage.

Colonel Michael Bishop’s (Mark Dacascos, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) last mission went horribly wrong. Destroyed from within… sabotaged. His was the only body dragged from the ashes of a black operation that never happened.

After years of recovery, Bishop thought he escaped the Black Ops and began a successful new life as a bodyguard to the rich and famous. He was the best, with skills most men died learning. But his past caught up with him. His clients began to die violently, at the same shadowy hand that conspired against his Black Op unit. Now he must go own one last mission to destroy the faceless men that run an army that doesn’t exist.

Sabotage is a well-crafted and entertaining 90s action movie. Director Tibor Takács may be best known for his earlier horror films, but film fans should check out his film Sabotage. I think what I really enjoyed about the film is that it keeps you guessing. Sometimes when you watch a film you know what is going to happen from the opening line. Not here!

Now while Mark Dacascos is the lead and does a tremendous job, this film has a great cast that deserves a shoutout! There is Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Tony Todd (Candyman) and Graham Greene (Dances with Wolves).

MVD has transferred Sabotage to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The soundtrack is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track. Finally, there is the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

This transfer is really nice. The colors are vibrant, and the picture is crisp and clean with no signs of damage that I could find while watching this film. The audio is clear as a bell with no dropouts or hiss or pops. This is a gorgeous looking transfer! But that is not all that is included in this Blu-ray release. MVD added some cool bonuses to this release. Take a look at what is included.

* NEW! Interview with actor Mark Dacascos (HD, 32:11)
* NEW! Interview with Actor Tony Todd (HD, 13:24)
* Mark Dacascos trailer reel
* Double-sided insert artwork
* Collectible Mini-Poster

The new interviews are so much fun to listen to. When watching Mark Dacascos interview you can tell he really is having fun talking about this film and his career as a whole. Defiantly worth the 32 minute watch! I always love artwork, as I have said so many times here. MVD Rewind brings us 2 kinds of Blu-ray insert artwork and the addition of the mini-poster. Now I love that.

Sabotage will not be for everyone! The film is got a good chunk of profanity and the violence, while not extreme, some more sensitive movie goers may find hard to watch. So just a warning viewer beware. But if you love 90s action films this one will be a treat!

So, if you love Mark Dacascos films, you need this MVD Rewind Collection Blu-ray of Sabotage in your collection. Head over to Amazon order your copy today!
