Announcing Dark Arts Entertainment

Filmmakers Brian Yuzna and John Penney have partnered with MVD Entertainment to launch a new motion picture distribution company in North America entitled Dark Arts Entertainment.

Yuzna and Penney have a combined thirty plus years of film experience. Yuzna, an award-winning pioneer of genre and progressive FX work, has written, produced, and directed an impressive range of titles, including Re-Animator, Society, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, and Necronomicon.

John Penney is an award-winning filmmaker, writing and directing projects like Zyzzyx Road, the supernatural thriller Hellgate, Return of The Living Dead 3, The Kindred, Amphibious 3D, and Contaminated Man.

John Penney stated, he was "excited by this new step that Dark Arts Entertainment is taking into distribution. We are always looking for emerging genre filmmakers with film that can be shaped for marketplace success. This new partnership with MVD is the perfect fit for our expanding endeavor.”

The deal was negotiated by Brian Yuzna and John Penney on behalf of Dark Arts Entertainment, and by Eric D. Wilkinson and Zach Fischel on behalf of MVD Entertainment Group.  This new distribution company is exciting news to say the least. As a fans of physical media, I look forward to seeing what is coming ahead for Dark Arts Entertainment and MVD partnership.
