The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013) Blu-ray Review

Warner Brothers' Blu-ray of The Hangover Trilogy
Todd Phillips is an acclaimed film director.  Known for films like Road Trip, Old School, Starsky & Hutch, and School for Scoundrels. But where his talent as a filmmaker really shined was in the DC Comics Film Joker!

Almost a decade before he would become the acclaimed director of Joker he would gain a wider audience with his raunchy comedy film series The Hangover. Now Warner Brothers Home Entertainment has released The Hangover Trilogy on Blu-ray!

Our Rating System:
****=Don’t Miss it!
***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend an evening.
*=You haven’t missed anything.

Hangover (2009) Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding. ***

Hangover 2 (2011) Two years after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry. **

Hangover 3 (2013) When one of their own is kidnapped by an angry gangster, the Wolf Pack must track down Mr. Chow, who has escaped from prison and is on the run. **

In this trilogy we join "The Wolfpack," Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis), and Doug (Justin Bartha). These four really have a unique chemistry together. But look of for Ken Jeong, his character is so off the wall, but in an extremely funny way! He must be seen to be believed! It is also cool to see Mike Tyson!

Honestly the first Hangover is the best. It is the most fun film to watch. The second film is more or less a rehash and just fails to be as much fun. Then the third film went from being a fun comedy to more of a dark thriller. That was strange to say the least, but John Goodman is great in the third film as the villain.

Now these films are Rated R and they are filled with extreme profanity, there is also violence, sexual content, nudity, drugs and slurs that some viewers might find offensive. So, viewers should defiantly be aware of this going into to watching this trilogy.

All three films have been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p in 2.40:1 aspect ratio. There are audio options of DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 for English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. There is also the option for subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms in The Hangover

Each of these films receive their own Blu-ray disc. The films look crisp and clean and sound clear as a bell. There are no digital artifacts found in these Blu-ray transfers. The Hangover Trilogy looks really nice in HD! But nice copies of these films are not all that is included in this Blu-ray set. Warner Brothers Home Entertainment added a ton of bonus features to this 4 disc Blu-ray set. Take a look at what is included on these discs.
