La Brea Season 2: Blu-ray Review

La Brea, NBC, Universal, HD, scifi, adventure,
Time Travel adventures range from the fun to the scary! Over the years we have seen the classic H.G. Wells' The Time Machine to the ultra fun Back to the Future trilogy starring the great Michael J. Fox.

As for TV Time travel we have seen shows like DC's Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, the British classic Doctor Who and my absolute favorite Quantum Leap. On September 28th 2021 another time travel series would debut on NBC, it was entitled La Brea.

When a massive sinkhole opens up in the middle of Los Angeles, separating families and friends, a mother and son fall into an unexplainable primeval land alongside a group of strangers trying to figure out where they are, and how to get back home.

In season two as one hope for a return home ends another begins. The adventure gets deeper as those trapped face a war with local villagers and uncover a that the reason there are trapped there maybe linked to their time more than they know.

Season one saw a 10 episode run. Here in season two we got more episodes. Season 2 gave us 14 action packed emotional episodes. I must saw that season 2 of La Brea really seemed to gain it's legs. The actors seemed to really begin to understand who their character are and the stories became delightfully complex, making for mystery, not knowing who you can trust! Loved that!

All fourteen episode of season 2 are spread across 3 Blu-ray discs.

Disc One: The Next Day / The Cave / The Great Escape / The Fog / The Heist

Disc Two: Lazarus / 1988 / Stampede / Murder in the Clearing / The Return

Disc Three: The Wedding / The Swarm / The Journey, Part 1 / The Journey, Part 2

These episodes are transferred in 1080p in the original widescreen format in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The audio is a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Finally there is the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

NBC TV Show La Brea, time travel, scifi, adventure,

I have been watching La Brea on Peacock Network. When I popped in this Blu-ray and compared the quality of these episode from what I watched on Peacock. These episodes looks absolutely stunning. The crispness of the picture is mind blowing. This is why I love physical media so much. Streaming just does not take the place of HD Blu-ray discs.

The only thing that could have made this release better would have been some bonus features. Interviews, episode commentaries, making of featurettes. Those would have been great. But to be honest, to see these episodes in HD is more than enough for me to recommend this Blu-ray set.

I really have been enjoying this time travel series La Brea.
The show deservedly was nominated for People's Choice Awards and Saturn Awards. Season 2 ended in an epic cliffhanger so needless to say I can not wait to see the return for Season 3. But until than I can relive the episode season 2 in spectacular HD!

So if you have been enjoying La Brea as much as I have, you need La Brea season 2 in your collection. I highly recommend adding La Brea on Blu-ray to your collection. It looks so much better than anything you will see on streaming services. Head over to
Amazon and order your copy today.
