Recently the world got the devastating news about Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia. As a result he was retiring from acting! Now as sad as it is that there will be no more Bruce Willis films, he has left behind an amazing amount of films that audiences will relive over and over. And even new generations will discover him.

In 1995 he starred in the cult sci-fi classic 12 Monkeys. Now the good folks at Arrow Video have released this film on deluxe 4K Ultra HD.

In 1996, a deadly virus is unleashed by a group calling themselves the Army of the Twelve Monkeys, destroying much of the world’s population and forcing survivors underground. In 2035, prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis, Die Hard) is chosen to go back in time and help scientists in their search for a cure.

Terry Gilliam directed an amazingly entertaining film inspired by Chris Marker's 1962 short film La Jetée. Along with Bruce Willis he is joined by a stellar cast including; Madeleine Stowe (Last of the Mohicans), and Brad Pitt (Interview with a Vampire), with Christopher Plummer (Knives Out) and David Morse (The Green Mile).

12 Monkeys has been transferred in 1080p and presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with stereo and 5.1 sound. The film has been resorted from a 4K scan of the original negative by Arrow Films, approved by director Terry Gilliam.

The new 4K scan is truly something special! It looks and sounds stunning! There is one very slight audio and video synch issue. It only lasts a few moments and most viewers won't even notice! But it is one issue that needed to be pointed out!
