80's Beat {Mill Creek Entertainment DVD Review}

Reviewed by Jason Lockard

In the 1980s the future seemed so bright people had to wear shades. But also in the 80s was young actors who were teen heartthrobs.

The good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment released 80's Beat an eight movie set featuring young men and women who would turned into acting legends. Lets take a look at what s included in this set.

Our Rating System:
**** = Don’t Miss it!
*** = Worth a look.
** = An OK way to spend an evening.
* = You haven’t missed anything.

This DVD collection boasts of many actors in their early careers including, Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, Robert Downey Jr., Lori Loughlin, River Phoenix, Christian Slater, Helen Slater, Johnny Depp, Kirk Cameron, Peter Horton and many many more.

All eight movies are collected on 2 DVD Discs. That is 4 movies per DVD. Now I was expecting the quality to suffer quite a bit, however I think for the amount of content housed on the DVD the bit rate of each film is fairly decent. It may not be as clear as a Blu-ray, but where are you going to find as much bang for your buck?

Another very cool feature on this DVD set is the inside cover art. When you take the two DVD discs out there is a mini poster printed on inside DVD insert. On that poster is a very young Johnny Depp.

I have to admit I have a lot of love for these films of the 80s. Even though I never got to see them in theaters. Seeing them now I wish I was a teenager in the 80s. This is a really nice retro 80s movie set and I am glad it is part of the Classic Cinema Plus library.

If you love 80's cinema as much as me and want a good bunch of excellent 80s cinema for a great price, I highly recommend 80's Beat. Head over to Amazon.com and get your copy today.
