Over 30 years ago director Brett Leonard brought the world the cult classic Stephen King's The Lawnmower Man. Than in 2005 he took his vision to a whole other level. A level of what some might say is obscene depravity with his film Feed!
Unearthed Films is known for giving all forms of film a chance to live on Blu-ray. And while some of these film releases are not my cup of tea, I appreciate their willingness to give these films that would not have a chance to live on home video that chance. So, for the 20th anniversary of this film's release Unearthed Films have given this film a Blu-ray release.
Synopsis: Intensely grotesque and shocking as hell, Feed is a heavyweight thrill ride through the depths of depravity. A veteran of cyberporn investigations, Australian cop Philip Jackson, is no stranger to the dangerous side of sexual fetishes. He may have found his sickest case yet when he discovers a sinister side to an American website devoted to fat-admiring men and obese women called 'feeders' and 'gainers.' Could the man behind it all be force-feeding missing women to death?
Feed is a dark, twisted and disturbing crime-thriller. Visually the effects are very well done. And the story is a well thought out and written film, but there is no denying that this is a film that for certain audiences, like me that will find this film hard to sit through. I didn't not find this film an enjoyable experience. But I realize some will so to each their own.
Unearthed Films have transferred Feed to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. There are two audio options to choose from on this disc. There is an English PCM 2.0 stereo and an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Unearthed Films always put their best foot forward with their Blu-ray transfers and the transfer of Feed is no different. Feed looks crisp and clean with no signs of digital artifacts and the audio is clear with no audio anomalies. In addition to a nice-looking transfer Unearthed Films added some nice bonus features. take a look at what is included.
