Physical media heavyweight MVD Visual have given many of these cult films, independent films as well as classics a chance to live on physical media. Well, Signe's film is a perfect one for the independent film wing of the MVD Visual releases. So MVD has given this animated film a Blu-ray release. This new release features cool bonus features as well.
Synopsis: Zelma (Dagmara Dominczyk, HBO's 'Succession') who navigates through a series of romantic encounters, each one shaping her understanding of love and marriage. With unflinching honesty, she grapples with the conflicting forces of passion and disillusionment, her own desires, fears, and insecurities, painting a raw and intimate portrait of the human heart.
The film is a a funny and yet moving story. But the scientific elements about the human body used in this film to explain how main character Zelma is feeling as she grown does seem to drag the film down a bit, at least in my opinion.
The film's animation is tremendous. It uses classic animation like from the classic Paddington Bear series and mixes it with some 3D animation. The characters in the film interact with this 3D images. It is simply amazing!
The voice cast is an exceptional one that includes Matthew Modine ('Stranger Things', 'Oppenheimer'), Cameron Monaghan (Showtime's 'Shameless', 'The Giver') and Stephen Lang ('Avatar'). Than there is the music. The original music was written by Signe Baumaune. The music is a perfect link between scenes as the man character Zelma grows up!
It should be noted that while this is an animated film, it is for adults. There is sexual content, animated nudity and talks of drug use. Along with all the scientific, it is too heavy for any age group by adults.
MVD Visual have transferred this film to Blu-ray in 1080p and is in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The audio is a DTS-HD Master audio 2.0. There is also the option for subtitles in English, Spanish, French and Latvian.
This transfer is really crisp and clean with no signs of digital artifacts. The audio is clear with no audio anomalies. MVD did a tremendous job with this film transfer. But a nice looking transfer is not all that this release has going for it. Take a look at the bonuses included in this release.

Now while My Love affair with Marriage has it's faults, I respect the complexity of the animation and how good it looks.
