Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998) {Review}

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

Our world has began to be inundated with comic book movies and tv shows. For comic book fans this is a dream come true.

For most of us the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury is Samuel L. Jackson but before Mr. Jackson took the role of the hard-nosed director, there was another.

In 1998 Fox produced a made-for-TV movie entitled  Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Directed by Rod Hardy and starring David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury.

In the film Colonel Nick Fury has retired, but is approached to return to duty to take down agents of a terrorist organization  known as Hydra. The group is now lead  by the children of his old enemy Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. Not only has HYDRA resurfaced they have brought with them the deadly pathogen known as the Death’s Head virus, and threatens to attack Manhattan with it, unless they are paid $1 billion.

David Hasselhoff brings his unique style to Nick Fury. And while this movie drags in some spots and it feels like the producers trying to make a comedy at times. It’s still not a bad way to spend an hour and a half. You can find this movie on DVD on Amazon.com
