Giallo has mystery elements and often contains slasher, crime fiction, psychological thriller, psychological horror, ect. One such film was 1973's Death Smiles on a Murderer. Now Arrow Video brings us this film on Blu-ray!
The film is a period piece and takes place in Austria in the early 1900s and follows a mad scientist who discovers an ancient Incan formula for raising the dead, and uses it for a series of revenge murders. Thus bringing on supernatural destruction and disaster. The film is pretty violent and has some sexual scenes that audiences should be warned about! This is not for teens and kids! This is adults only!
This seems like a typical horror film! Death smiles on a murderer is a trippy kind of ride! The film at times just doesn't make sense but for hardcore horror fans who are just looking for the gore this film will satisfy them more than likely. This is a niche film! It is not for everyone! It's not even for all horror film fans!
This Blu-ray release features a brand new 2K restoration from the original camera negative in high definition (1080p). It also features the original Italian and English soundtracks. Uncompressed Mono 1.0 PCM audio, Newly translated English subtitles for the Italian soundtrack, Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing for the English soundtrack.
